Once we’ve decided that you need a dental crown, we will begin the process by preparing the tooth in question. A small amount of enamel is removed to make room for the future dental restoration. Then we take an impression of your mouth to ensure that your crown will fit perfectly once it has been placed. A temporary crown might be attached to your tooth to protect it until your permanent one is ready.

The final crown will be made at a separate laboratory. Once it’s arrived at our dental office, we’ll schedule another appointment to place it in your mouth. We might have to do some last-minute adjustments to ensure that it fits properly and looks natural next to your other teeth. Once the crown is in place, you can immediately start using it to chew your favorite foods and smile with confidence.
